Players of the Week

Ryan Sontag (Monroe, Mich.), a junior outfielder from Arizona State hit .433 for Winchester while adding nine runs, 13 hits, two doubles, a triple, a home run, and six RBIs.  Sontag also walked three times and stole a base for the Royals who went 5-2 last week and lead the league in hitting with a .317 batting average.

Luke Greinke (Orlando, Fla.), a junior first baseman out of Auburn put together a phenomenal week for the Winchester Royals.  Greinke lead the league with a .619 batting average, while also leading the league in hits (13), doubles (5) and slugging percentage (1.143).  Greinke also added two home runs, eight RBIs, seven walks and a stolen base.   

Pitchers of the Week

Wade Korpi (Lake Worth, Fla.), a junior lefthander out of Notre Dame went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA last week for Staunton.  Korpi pitched seven shutout innings, allowing three hits, walking none and striking out eight in a win over Fauquier Saturday night.

Zac Blakney (Kimberly, Ala.), a junior righthander for Montevallo and Fauquier threw six shutout innings in a win over Harrisonburg on Friday.  Blakney struck out 10, walked one and allowed five hits for the Gators.  Opponents hit just .238 against him.
