Nominations for the early watch list for the Brooks Wallace Player of the Year Award were announced by the College Baseball Foundation in December with 20 players among the 227 on the preseason list having ties to the Valley Baseball League.

The list includes 2007 VBL MVP and national summer league Player of the Year Luke Greinke of Auburn (link requires subscription) as well as 2006 MVP Tyler Kuhn of West Virginia.  Also on the list is one Valley Leaguer signed up for the 2008 season in VMI’s Kevin Crum.

The Wallace Award is presented annually to the top player in NCAA Division I by the College Baseball Foundation.  The full list of 277 names is available to view here.  The list of 20 players with VBL ties is below.
