STAUNTON HOLDS AUCTION FOR BOSSERMAN SCHOLARSHIP

STAUNTON, Va. (5/4/04) -- The Staunton Braves of the Valley Baseball League will be hosting the Annual Buddy Bosserman Scholarship Fund Sports Auction on Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 2 p.m. The auction will be held in the fellowship hall of the Third Presbyterian Church, located on Barterbrook Road in Staunton. The goal of the event is to raise enough funds to offer a $500 scholarship to a worthy high school baseball player from the area.

Items from various sporting teams will be auctioned off. In addition, Garland Eustler, previous owner of the Braves, will be the guest auctioneer and a local sorority (Alpha Chi - ESA) will be providing refreshments.

Among the many items are gift sets from the Florida Marlins, Dallas Cowboys, and Richmond Braves, autographed items from the Baltimore Ravens, Washington Redskins, Baltimore Orioles and Washington Capitals, framed photographs of various teams and individual athletes, box seat tickets to the Salem Avalanche games, and much more.

Tickets are $5 each for the general public, and $2.50 for Staunton Braves host families. To purchase tickets or for additional information call either the Staunton Braves office at Moxie Stadium (540-886-0987) or Debbie Frazier at (540-943-5907).
