NEW MARKET REBELS HONORED BY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE| News

At the annual Grandstand Managers Banquet for the New Market Rebels held on Friday, April 23, 2004 at the Johnny Appleseed Restaurant in New Market, Va., Rebel General Manager, Bruce Alger, accepted the Outstanding Organization of the Year Award from the New Market Chamber of Commerce for the year 2003.

At the banquet, the Rebels also officially welcomed the leagues two new franchises, the Woodstock River Bandits and the Loudoun Rangers. Stu Richardson, the owner of the River Bandits and Pat Malone, the General Manager of the Rangers, were both on hand and addressed the group of 80 Valley League baseball fans.

Dave Biery, the President of the Valley Baseball League, was also on hand and addressed the gathering as well. Alger presented gifts to all three league dignitaries for their contributions to the annual kick-off of the Rebels 2004 season
