Charlottesville 9, Harrisonburg 7
Tom Sox Highlights: The Tom Sox took the lead with three runs in the fifth and held on for the win. Jake Books (Coastal Carolina) had a run-scoring double and Ryan Wynn (Wofford) and Dean Mihos (Coastal Carolina) added run-scoring singles in the fifth inning. Colby Wallace (ECU) went 3-for-5 with a run scored and one run batted in. Books was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Wynn finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Caden Ferraro (Blinn) was 2-for-3 with three runs scored. Bobby Olsen (Nebraska) got the win with five shutout innings. He allowed just two hits, struck out six and walked one.
Turks Highlights: Jalen Evans (Wingate) was 2-for-5 with two runs scored on the night and Anthony Paskell (Rider) went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and one run batted in. Chris Katz (Wake Forest) was 3-for-5 with one run batted in. Hudson Lee (Wake Forest) did not allow a hit in two innings on the mound. He struck out three and did not walk a batter.
Culpeper 8, Waynesboro 6
Cavaliers Highlights: Culpeper took the lead with two runs in the seventh and held on for the 8-6 win. Eric Correa (Rice) singled home a run to tie the score at 6-6 and Ryan Kroepel’s (Arizona State) sac fly gave the Cavs a 7-6 lead. Ryan Storey (South Alabama) and Bennett Fryman (Arizona State) each went 2-for-4 at the top of the order. Tyler Shulman (Harvard) drove in two runs for the Cavaliers. William Wian (Randolph-Macon) did not allow a hit over the final two innings to earn the save. He struck out four and did not walk a batter.
Generals Highlights: Aidan Miller (Eastern Mennonite) was 3-for-4 and drove in three runs for the Generals.
Covington 9, Staunton 8 (10 innings)
Lumberjacks Highlights: Covington rallied from an 8-0 hole to win 9-8 in 10 innings. Spencer Williams (Carson-Newman) drove in the winning run with a single. Gregory Melo (Tallahassee CC) was 2-for-3 and his three-run double in the bottom of the eighth tied the score at 8-8. Nick Paszt (Eastern Florida State) was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and Dariel Castillo (Pasco Hernando) finished 2-for-4. Colby Phillips (Carson-Newman) silenced the Braves bats in his six innings of relief. He also one run on three hits and struck out six.
Braves Highlights: Noah Canterbury (Fairmont State) was 2-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Braves. Tim Dickinson (St. Joseph’s) was 2-for-4. Starting pitcher Hunter Jones (Florida) did not allow a hit in his two innings.
