Strasburg 12, Winchester 2

Strasburg’s Landon Beaver (UAB) hit two homers and drove in five runs to led the Express to a 12-2 win over the Royals.

Brady Boles (Panola) was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Jack Anderson was 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs for the Express.

Strasburg starter John Gray (Wofford) pitched four innings and allowed one run on four hits.

Benton Jones (Lynchburg) and Nick Avagnano (Richard Stockton) each had two hits for the Royals.

Covington 4, Staunton 0

Covington took advantage of four Staunton errors in the final two innings to break away from a scoreless tie and take a 4-0 victory over the Braves.

Three Covington pitchers combined on the shutout. Starter Quindon Wright (Albany State) pitched five scoreless innings and gave up wot base hits. Jeffred Fermin (Miami Dade-Kendall) recorded two outs before the game was halted by lightning. Following a lengthy delay, Danik Reed (Abilene Christian) finished with 3.1 innings of one-hit shutout relief.

Freddy Oquendo (Dodge City CC) was 2-for-4 and drove in two runs for the Jacks.

Dylan Rasco (Arcadia) pitched five strong innings for the Braves. Rasco allow no runs on two hits and struck out seven.

Rex Smith (VCU) had two hits for Staunton.

Purcellville 10, Waynesboro 7

A seven-run sixth inning propelled the Cannons to a 10-7 win over Waynesboro.

Anthony Fernandez (St. Bonaventure) was 3-for-4 with three runs scored to lead the Cannons. Thomas Marsala was 2-for-4 with a solo homer. Erick Martinez (North Central Texas College), Jackson Micheels (Purdue-Fort Wayne) and Colson Wood (North Central Texas College) each added two base hits. Martinez and Wood each had two RBIs.

Macaddin Dye (ODU) homered and drove in four runs for the Generals. Nathan Fink (Sam Houston St.) drove in three runs for Waynesboro.
