The Woodstock River Bandits have announced that Mike Bocock will be returning for the 2025 season, a season that will be his last.
After 33 years coaching in the Valley Baseball League, Coach Bocock has decided that he will retire as manager following the 2025 season. The River Bandits and Coach Bocock have agreed that coach will stay on as the recruiting coordinator for the organization beyond 2025.
Coach Bocock has coached for six organizations during his tenure including with the Woodstock River Bandits, Luray Wranglers, Waynesboro Generals, New Market Rebels, Covington Lumberjacks and Staunton Braves. He has won seven Valley Baseball League championships, coached several players who have gone on to be drafted with more than 150 signing professional contracts. He is the winningest coach in league history with over 750 wins and has been named VBL Coach of the Year four times.
Bocock was an inaugural member of the Valley Baseball League in 2016.
