Last Tuesday, April 26, former Harrisonburg Turk Will Brian earned his 13th save of the 2022 season for Eastern Kentucky, setting a school record in the process.

Brian worked as a starter for the Turks in the summer of 2019, but in school he’s been a closer now for two years. In 2021, he went 2-1, 2.48 in 32 2/3 innings, with 10 saves,10 walks and 48 strikeouts. He’s been better yet in 2022, as he’s now 1-0, 1.53, with 13 saves, 11 walks and 40 K’s in 29 1/3 innings. In his first 22 appearances, he’s allowed runs in only two of them, and, in fact, has only allowed hits in four of them.

Brian has been named to the NCBWA Midseason Stopper of the Year Watch List; with stats like these, he has a shot!
