Staunton’s Reid Celata has been named the Signs USA Pitcher of the Week.

Powered by a complete-game shutout against Purcellville on June 13, Celata lowered his season ERA to 2.45, and has seven strikeouts in 11 total innings pitched. The junior righthander from Virginia Beach is a returner in 2021; he also played for Staunton in 2019, and was named the team’s most valuable pitcher.

Celata led UMBC’s pitching staff in ERA this spring when he went 4-7, 5.79, with 18 walks and 30 strikeouts in 56 innings pitched.
