The Covington Lumberjacks have released the following statement on social media:
“It’s a very tough day for the Lumberjack family. We have had a player test positive for COVID-19 and due to contact tracing and using the utmost amount of caution our season is over. We can’t express enough the thanks we have for our players, our coaches, our fans, our host families and our sponsors. All of you guys are great and we couldn’t do it without any of you. At the end of the day, this is about college baseball players coming to our community and getting better as players and young men. They have all done that. We thank all of them for their commitment to us and to our community and wish them a safe return to their home. We will be back stronger than ever in 2022!!!!”
