Eight total games were played last night. We lost the DH at Covington, but the rest went on…
Results
- Charlottesville 4, Front Royal 3 (Gm 1): Tied at three, the Sox pushed across a run in the top of the sixth when Christian Martin hit a sac fly to bring in Julian Rojas. The Charlottesville relievers did the rest.
- Purcellville 7, Staunton 4 (8 innings) (Gm 1): After Mikey Brinton scored on an error, Bear Madliak hit his first home run of the year to give the Cannons an extra-inning win.
- Harrisonburg 7, Woodstock 5 (Gm 1): The Turks took advantage of some erratic early fielding by the Bandits, and Jake Wolf finished it off with three shutout innings.
- Waynesboro 6, Winchester 5 (9 innings) (Gm 1): They decided to play nine anyway! The Generals scored twice in the bottom of the ninth to win this one.
- Charlottesville 3, Front Royal 0 (Gm 2): This one is all Luke Wagner- he only needed 68 pitches to throw six one-hit, shutout innings. Charlottesville is 17-11; Front Royals falls to 13-21.
- Harrisonburg 9, Woodstock 7 (Gm 2): An interesting one. Turks ran out to a 9-0 lead after three innings, but the Bandits clawed back into it, and had the tying runners on in the ninth, but fell short. With the sweep, the Turks are now 18-10 and the Bandits 19-12.
- Staunton 6, Purcellville 5 (11 innings) (Gm 2): Staunton scores two in the bottom of the 11th inning to survive this marathon doubleheader. Staunton is now 10-20, and the Cannons are 11-19-1.
- Waynesboro 5, Winchester 4 (Gm 2): Jonathan Blackwell spun a great five innings, and the Generals just barely hung on to win this one. With the sweep, the Generals are 20-11-1; Royals fall to 11-20.
Interesting- the South Division went 7-1 today.
