Former Staunton Braves player Jon Jay will return to St. Louis in 2025 as a member of the Cardinals coaching staff.

Jay played with the Cardinals in 2011 when the team won the World Championship.

For the past two seasons, Jay has been the first base coach with the Miami Marlins.

In 12 seasons as a player, Jay had a .283 batting average with 1,087 career hits. He has the third highest modern-day career fielding percentage for a center fielder at .996, behind only Darin Erstad and Shane Victorino.
