The Major League Baseball Draft begins Sunday, and six former Valley Baseball League players are ranked among Perfect Game’s Top 500 draft prospects.
The top-ranked former VBP player is Henry Ford, ranked #81. Ford played at U.Va. this past spring but has announced his intention to transfer to Tennessee for the 2026 season. Ford played for the Charlottesville Tom Sox.
Two of Ford’s U.Va. teammates are also ranked. Aidan Teel is ranked #166 and Chris Arroyo is ranked #253. Both Teel and Arroyo played with the Tom Sox. If not drafted, Teel will play next season at Mississippi State.
Former Staunton Braves pitcher Will McCausland is ranked #348. McCausland began his college career at St. Joseph’s before transferring to Ole Miss.
Konni Durschlag, the Big South Player of the Year at High Point, is ranked #367. Durschlag played in the VBL with the Winchester Royals.
Samford outfielder Michael Gupton is ranked #426. Gupton played with the Purcellville Cannons.
