The pitcher of the week for the baseball week ending Sunday, July 17 is Strasburg’s Lucas Hartman!
Hartman threw a dynamite start on July 15 against Purcellville, allowing two hits, one walk, and striking out 12 in five innings to earn a game score of 74. It was just the fourth start all summer in which the starter struck out more than nine batters. The sophomore righthander from Western Carolina is 2-1, 3.22 through 22 1/3 innings this summer, with 12 hits, 11 walks, and 33 K’s.
