Cannons Highlights: Jake Slade (Virginia Tech) drove in a run with a single in the second as the Cannons took a quick 2-0 lead. In the third, Bear Madliak (Jacksonville State) plated a run with a single and later scored on Lincoln Pack’s (West Virginia) sac fly, making the score 4-0. Vincent Figueroa (Florida Southwestern) was 3-for-4 and JQuann Smith (FIU) was 2-for-4. Jason Long (Messiah) got the win, pitching six scoreless innings. He allowed two hits while striking out six and walking two.
River Bandits Highlights: Pedro Acosta (Nova Southeastern) pitched four shutout innings in relief and allowed just two hits. He struck out two and walked one. Tyler Strickland (UNC-Pembroke) did not allow a hit in his two innings. He struck out three and did not walk a batter.
Front Royal 7, Strasburg 2
Cardinals Highlights: Front Royal jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning on run-scoring singles by Van Coughlin (Holy Cross), Elijah Grant (South Carolina) and Jimmy King (Holy Cross) and the Cardinals went on to defeat the Express 7-2. King finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Kyle Koehler (Cuyahoga CC) was 3-for-5 with a run batted in. Rene Lastres (Charlotte) finished the night 2-for-3. Starting pitcher Oliver Ellison (Coastal Carolina) pitched four scoreless innings and allowed four hits. He struck out four and walked two.
Express Highlights: Nick Locurto (Virginia Tech) and Chance Reisdorph (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) both finished 2-for-4 for the Express. Nick Locurto (Virginia Tech) was 2-for-5. Anthony LaSala (Pittsburgh) belted a two-run homer.
Winchester 13, New Market 3
Royals Highlights: Winchester took the lead with a four-run second inning and pulled away for a 13-3 win. Brody Pickette (Shenandoah) delivered a two-run single in the second and Jaylen Hernandez (Winthrop) added a run with a single in the four-run second inning. Pickette finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Brock Kuehler (Charleston Southern) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Gonzalez was 3-for-5 on the night. Austin Lafferty added a 2-for-3 night at the plate. Connor McGinnis was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs. Vincent Dolcemaschio (Baldwin Wallace) picked up the win, pitching 5.2 innings and allowing just one run on four hits. He struck out six and walked three.
Rebels Highlights: Chaise Albus (East Stroudsburg) homered for the Rebels.
Covington 7, Charlottesville 6 (10 innings)
Lumberjacks Highlights: For the second night in a row, the Jacks rallied late to tie the score and then won in extra innings. Gregory Melo (Tallahassee CC) tied the score in the ninth with a bases-loaded single and the Jacks scored twice in the 10th to win. Thomas Marsala (Hinds CC) was 2-for-5 and Spencer Williams (Carson-Newman) was 2-for-3. Chenar Brown (Louisiana Monroe) was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs. Kaleb Henry (Georgia Southwestern St.) was 2-for-5 with a solo homer.
Tom Sox Highlights: Jake Books (Coastal Carolina) was 2-for-5. Cayden Ferraro (Blinn) was 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs. Blake Brookins (Florida) was 2-for-3 in his first game with the Sox.
