Woodstock 8, Winchester 5
How it happened: Woodstock pushed across a run in the seventh to break a 5-5 tie and then added two more in the ninth to win 8-5. Jackson Cherry (Virginia Tech) game the Bandits the lead with a solo homer in the seventh inning. Ace Williamson (Jacksonville State) provided some insurance with a two-run single in the ninth inning.
River Bandits Highlights: Chaz Salter (Middle Georgia) was 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Tyler Strickland (UNC-Pembroke) earned the save, pitching 2.2 innings and allowing one hit. He struck out two. Noah Burtner (Bluefield) did not allow a hit in 1.1 innings and got the win.
Royals Highlights: Jack Mosh Minnesota was 2-for-5 with a run batted in. Payton Ebbing (Kent State) and Cam Harthan (Marshall) both had two hits for the Royals.
Strasburg 12, New Market 2
How it happened: Strasburg scored in every inning to defeat the Rebels in seven innings. The Express broke the game open early with five runs in the second inning. Lewis Rodriguez (Marist) and Brandon Burckel (Indiana) had run-scoring singles and teammates Kyle Edwards (ODU) and Tait Nunnally (Easter Kentucky) produced run-scoring doubles.
Express Highlights: Edwards just missed the cycle, going 4-for-5 with two doubles, a single and a homer. He drove in three runs. Burckel Was 2-for-4 with a run batted in. Rodriguez was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Angelo Prieto (Samford) added a solo homer. Jimm Wigo pitched five innings to get the win, allowing two runs on two hits. Evan Bert (VCU) allowed one hit and struck out three in two innings.
Front Royal 5, Purcellville 4
How it happened: Fron Royal scored three runs in the first inning and held on for a 5-4 victory. Broedy Poppell (Florida A&M) put the Cardinals on the board with a double and Kyle Koehler (Cuyahoga CC) followed with a two-run homer for a 3-0 Front Royal lead.
Cardinals Highlights: Poppell finished 3-for-5 on the night. Koehler was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Sabien Rivera (Harford) earned the save with two shutout innings. He allowed one hit and struck out three.
Cannons Highlights: Shintaro Inoue (Kansas State) drove in two runs. David Eckaus (FIU) struck out four and allowed one hit in two shutout innings.
