Strasburg 14 / 12, Woodstock 4 / 6

How it happened: Strasburg ran its winning streak to nine straight with a doubleheader sweep of the River Bandits. The Express pounded out 14 hits in just five innings in the opener. Strasburg added 10 more hits in the second game.

Express Highlights: In the opener, Connor Chisholm (Mississippi) was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Tait Nunnally (Eastern Kentucky) was 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Brandon Burckel (Indiana) was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Geremy Garcia Miami Dade-Kendall) was 2-for-2 with three runs scored and one run batted in. Randy Carlo IV (Maryland) was 2-for-5 with a homer and five RBIs. In the second game, Chase Ingram (UAB) went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Chisholm and Diego Villescas (New Orleans) each drove in a pair of runs.

River Bandits Highlights: In the opener, Kayden Faulcon (Pittsburgh) was 1-for-2 with a homer and three RBIs. In Game 2, Jackson Cherry (Virginia Tech) was 1-for-2 with a home run, three runs scored and two RBIs. Ryan Wilson (Middle Georgia) was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Starting pitcher Brendan Callanan (Iona) went three shutout innings and allowed just one hit. He struck out four and walked one.

New Market 6, Front Royal 2

How it happened: New Market took the lead with four runs in the top of the fifth inning to defeat Front Royal. The Rebels took advantage of a costly error during the decisive four-run fifth.

Rebels Highlights: Jake Henry Williams (Arkansas State) was 3-for-4 with one run batted in and Chase Gilligan (East Georgia) finished 2-for-5. Starting pitcher Dylan Sattazahn (Penn St.-Harrisburg) overcame some command issues to get the win. He pitched five innings and allowed two runs on one hit. He struck out eight and walked six. Jeffrey Davis (Mount St. Mary’s), Gabriel Watts (St. Bonaventure) and Luke Roggenburk (St. Bonaventure) combined to pitch four shutout innings in relief.

Cardinals Highlights: Broedy Poppell (Florida A&M) was 2-for-3 with a run batted in. Aiden Ellerts (Pasco-Hernando) pitched two shutout innings and allowed just one hit while striking out four.

Winchester 10, Purcellville 3

How it happened: Winchester jumped out to an 8-0 lead after three innings in its win over the Cannons. The Royals scored six runs in the third inning, highlighted by RBI-doubles from Landon Bruce (San Jacinto) and Connor McGinnis (Houston).

Royals Highlights: Jayson Gonzalez (Iona) was 2-for-5 with two runs scored. Jaylen Hernandez (Winthrop) homered and had two RBIs. Mikel Pryor (Alabama State) was 2-for-3 with a homer, two runs scored and two RBIs. McGinnis also finished with two RBIs. W Ross pitched seven innings to get the win. He allowed two runs on five hits while striking out nine.

Cannons Highlights: Victor Figueroa was 1-for-2 with a homer and two RBIs. Mitsuki Kohno (Christian Brothers) was 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
