Braves 6, Generals 5

How it happened: The Braves scored two runs in the eighth inning to take a 6-3 lead and held on for the 6-5 win. AJ Wenrich (Georgia Southern) led off the eighth with a homer. Brett Walmsley (Delaware) walked, and Nate Prince (Roanoke) singled to put two runners on. Jake D’Altrui (New Orleans) singled to drive in Walmsley to make it 6-3. The Generals scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning off Staunton close Nate Ward (Florida Southwestern) on a two-run single by Bentley Yeatts (Longwood) but Ward retired the side in order in the ninth to earn his fifth save.

Braves Highlights: Wenrich finished 2-for-5 with a solo homer. Evan McDade (Fairmont State) continued to pitch well in relief allowing no runs on one hit in 1.2 innings.

Generals Highlights: Kyle Neri (Rider) was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Yeatts was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

Charlottesville 9, Harrisonburg 5

How it happened: Cade Belyeu (Auburn) homered and doubled to power the Tom Sox to victory. The Sox took command with six runs in the second inning.  David Wiley (Wofford) drove in the first run with a double and Ethan Gibson (Virginia Tech) added a two-run single. Belyeu capped the big inning with a three-run homer.

Tom Sox Highlights: Belyeu finished 2-for-5 with three RBIs. Ryan Wynn (Wofford) was 2-for-5 with a run batted in. Ayden Alexander (George Washington) got the win in relief, pitchng two shutout innings. Daniel Powell (Kennesaw State) finished the game with two scoreless innings to earn the save.

Turks Highlights: Jack Cannizzaro (JMU) was2 -for-4 with a run batted in.

Culpeper 6, Covington 3

How it happened: Culpeper snapped a 2-2 tie with a run in the fifth inning and added two more in the sixth to defeat the Jacks. Jackson Rusiecki (UNC) led off the fifth with a solo homer, giving the Cavaliers a 3-2 lead. Culpeper used the long ball again in the sixth with Zaine Toneske’s (St. John’s) two-run blast making the score 5-3.

Cavaliers Highlights: Bennett Fryman (Arizona State) was 2-for-5 and Jon Howard (Mt. Olive) was 2-for-4. Tyler Shulman (Harvard) and Toneske both drove in two runs. Carter Rasmussen (Brown) finished the game with 6.1 of stellar relief. He allowed one unearned run on four hits. Rasmussen struck out eight and walked three.

Lumberjacks Highlights: Spencer Williams (Carson-Newman) was 4-for-5 and Chenar Brown (Louisiana Monroe) was 3-for-5.
