Strasburg 9, New Market 0

Strasburg clinched the No.1 seed in the North with a 9-0 victory over New Market.

Landon Beaver led the Express, going 3-for-5 with two homers and four RBIs. Beaver leads the VBL with 13 homers and 45 RBIs. Logan Duff added two hits for the Express and Paul Osting (Western Illinois) had three RBIs.

The Express used six pitchers in the shutout win. Strasburg starter Dawson Coe (Georgia Southern) allowed one hit in three innings. He struck out five and walked one.

Mike Dobkowski (Enterprise State) had two of the Rebels’ four hits.

Staunton 3, Charlottesville 1

Staunton clinched the No. 2 seed in the South with the 3-1 win over the Tom Sox.

Ethan Stewart (Ohio) picked up the win with six dominant innings. He allowed no runs on two hits. Stewart struck out nine and did not walk a batter. Kaiden Takahashi-Trader costed through the seventh and eighth innings before walking the first two batters in the ninth. Brady Clark (St. John’s) finished the game to record the save.

Joey Little (East Tennessee State) was 2-for-2 and homered for the second straight game.

Tim Lawson (UNC) pitched 4,1 innings and allowed one run on three hits for the Tom Sox.

Purcellville 6, Woodstock 4

The Cannons rallied from an early 4-0 hole to defeat Woodstock 6-4.

Thomas Marsala (Northwestern State) was 2-for-3 with a pair of homers and four RBIs to lead the Cannons. Anthony Fernandez (St. Bonaventure) was 2-for-4 and also homered.

Nick Staszak (Santa Fe) did not allow a hit in three innings of relief. He struck out four and did not walk a batter. Luke Proehl (Marshall) pitched 4.1 innings and gave up one run on four hits. Proehl struck out five and walked two. Ryan Morrison (Wichita State) retired the Bandits in the ninth to earn the save.

JT Anderosky (DeSales) had two hits for the River Bandits.

Woodstock starter Justin Silverstein (High Point) did not allow a hit in his four innings. He struck out six and walked four.

Covington 10, Harrisonburg 2

Covington scored four runs in the second and never trailed in a 10-2 win over the Turks.

Dariel Castillo (Pasco Hernando) and Andrew Gonzalez (Lakeland CC) both had three base hits for the Lumberjacks. Quindon Wright (Albany State) added two hits. Gonzalez had two RBIs.

Jacks’ starter Rafael Peraza pitched five scoreless innings and allowed two hits. He struck out four and walked two.

Front Royal 8, Winchester 5

Front Royal scored four runs in the second and held off a late Royals surge to take an 8-5 win.

Sylas Boris was 3-for-4 with a double, homer and five RBIs for the Cards. Danny Wyatt (UMBC) added two base hits.

Front Royal starter Jake Ludwig (York) pitched six shutout innings and allowed three hits. He struck out five and walked one. Cortland Clarke (Florida Gulf Coast) retired the side in the ninth to get the save.

Benton Jones (Lynchburg) and Parker Frey (East Stroudsburg) each had two base hits for the Royals. Todd Abraham (Binghamton) homered and had two RBIs.
