Charlottesville 3, Staunton 2 (10 innings)

Charlottesville outdueled the Braves on the mound to take a 3-2, 10-inning victory.

Perry Hargett (UNC) drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly.

Trevor Booton (Auburn) and Ian White (ECU) combined to hold the Braves without a hit for the final 4.1 innings. White pitched 2.1 innings and struck out four. Booton pitched the final two innings to get the win. He struck out two and walked one.

Wyatt Campbell (Florida Southern) and Jackson Ingram (West Virginia) each had two hits. Campbell hit his fifth homer of the season.

Staunton’s Peyton Jackson (Marshall) and Parker Munday (Akron) combined to blank the Tom Sox for 6.1 innings. Jackson pitched three innings and allowed one hit. He struck out one and walked two. Munday pitched 3.1 innings and allowed one hit while striking out four and walking two.

Purcellville 8 Strasburg 2

The Cannons broke open a close game with four runs in the fourth to defeat Strasburg 8-2.

Quinn Mayer (VCU and AJ Goytia (Texas Tech) both homers for the Cannons. Mayer was 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Goytia was 1-for-2 with two runs scored.

Connor Hensley (Rollins) improved to 4-1 on the mound with five strong innings. Hensley allowed no runs on three hits. He struck out seven and did not walk a batter.

Landon Beaver (UAB) homered, his fifth of the season, and drove in two runs for the Express.

Winchester 8, Front Royal 1

Winchester defeated Front Royal 8-1, handing the Royals their 10th consecutive loss.

Connor Guy (St. Johns River) was 1-for-2 with a homer, three runs scored and three RBIs for the Royals. John Emendorfer (Charleston Southern) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Troy Davis (East Stroudsburg) also had two base hits.

Michael Burnley (Shepherd) pitched two innings and got the win. He allowed no runs on one hit, struck out six and walked two.

Jay Campbell (Florida A&M) homered for the Cardinals.

Culpeper 9, New Market 4

Culpeper led 8-2 after three innings and coasted to a 9-4 win over the Rebels.

Mason Breton (Long Island) was 3-for-4 with a homer, two doubles and four RBIs to lead Culpeper’s offense.  Robinson Martin (Tennessee), Ethan Belk (Wofford), Alejandro Ludeiro (Lipscomb) and Ethan Borggren (Northwestern) each added two base hits for the winners. Belk and Ludeiro each drove in two runs.

Benjy Tucker (Mercer) got the win, pitching 2.2 innings and allowing one run on three hits. He struck out four and did not walk a batter.

Johnathan Mallow (Potomac State) had two hits and Jack Johnson (Oklahoma City) homered for New Market.
