Purcellville’s RJ Furcal (San Jacinto) and Winchester’s Konni Durschlag (High Point) shared the North Division Player of the Week honor while New Market’s Luke Roggenburk (St. Bonaventure) and Strasburg’s Aaron Schaefer (Bethune Cookman) shared the Pitcher of the Week award.
Furcal hit .400 during the week, going 10-for-25 with a double, three homers and 11 RBIs. Durschlag had 10 hits during the week with two doubles, two homers, two stolen bases and nine RBIs.
Roggenburk made four appearances and pitched a total of 7.1 scoreless innings. He allowed no runs on six hits while striking out eight and walking three. Schaefer’s numbers were nearly identical as he pitched 8.2 innings and allowed no runs on four hits. He struck out nine and walked two.
Other Player of the Week Nominees
New Market – Kyle Musser (Cornell) appeared in six games with 26 plate appearances. He had 11 hits, one double and walked four times. He scored six runs and drove in four runs. Musser hit for a .423 average during the week.
Woodstock – Ryan Wilson (Middle Georgia) was 9-for-23 during the past week for a .391 average. Wilson had four doubles and a homer. He scored eight runs and drove in six runs.
