The North rallied from a 4-0 deficit with three runs in the top of the eighth inning and five more in the ninth to defeat the South 8-4 in the 2025 Valley Baseball League All-Star Game.

The North scored its first two runs on bases-loaded walks in the eighth before a run-scoring single by Woodstock’s Jordan Evans (Tampa) trimmed the South lead to 4-3.

A bases-loaded walk to Strasburg’s Landon Beaver (UAB) tied the score before a two-run single by Purcellville’s Thomas Marsala (Western Kentucky) put the North ahead 6-4.

Evans and New Market’s Matt Murphy (Salem CC) each had two hits for the North. Evans and Marsala each drove in three runs. Beaver and Purcellville’s Mitsuki Kohno (Johnson U.) each drove in one run.

Marsala was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.

Harrisonburg’s Jalen Evans (Wingate) and Charlottesville’s Kyle Langley (JMU) each had two hits for the South.

Evans, Charlottesville’s Preston Gamster (TCU), Waynesboro’s Parker Wight (UNC-Greensboro) and Staunton’s Wyatt Campbell each drove in a run for the South.

Prior to the game, Campbell won the Home Run Derby.
