Staunton 9, Charlottesville 8
Tim Dickinson (Saint Joseph’s) snapped a 7-7 tie with a two-run single in the sixth inning. Dickinson finished 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs. Noah Canterbury (Fairmont State) was also 2-for- 4.
Brayden Scott (Mississippi Gulf Coast) picked up the win with three strong innings in relief. Scott pitched three innings, allowing no runs on two hits. He struck out four and walked one.
Robbie Lavey (George Washington) was 4-for-5 to lead the Tom Sox and Johnnie Lopez (Seminole State) was 3-for-3. Cade Belyeu (Auburn) belted a three-run homer.
Waynesboro 11, Harrisonburg 6
Waynesboro jumped out to a 9-1 lead after six innings and held off Harrisonburg.
Elijah Borjas (Colorado State Pueblo) led the Generals, going 3-for-5 at the plate. Jacob Payne (Gulf Coast CC) was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
Leadoff batter Jacob Green (Seminole State) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Turks.
Strasburg 17, Front Royal 1
A 14-run eighth-inning broke up a 3-1 pitcher’s duel and propelled Strasburg to a 17-1 victory over Front Royal. The Express scored 17 runs on just eight base hits.
Geremy Garcia (Miami Dade Kendall) blasted a grand-slam homer to highlight the eighth-inning barrage and finished the game with six RBIs.
Five Strasburg pitchers combined to limit the Cardinals to just one hit.
Woodstock 8, New Market 4
Woodstock scored four runs in the sixth to take the lead and held on to defeat the New Market Rebels.
Michael Dobkowski (Chipola) was 2-for-4 with a double, homer and five RBIs to lead Woodstock.
Blaine Waltimyer (PSU-Harrisburg) and Chase Gilligan (East Georgia) each had two hits for the Rebels.
Both starting pitchers threw well. Woodstock’s Braydon Gray (Stonehill) pitched five innings and allowed just one earned run on four hits. New Market’s Josh Berzonski (PSU-Harrisburg) pitched five innings and allowed just one earned run on seven hits. He stuck out seven.
Purcellville 5, Winchester 4
The Purcellville bullpen allowed just one run in the final six innings in a 5-4, 10-inning win over Winchester.
Kaleb Freeman (Auburn) had two of Purcellville’s three hits. Lincoln Pack (West Virginia) drove in the winning run with a walk-off single in the 10th innings.
Shanley Wall (East Stroudsburg) and Mikel Pryor (Alabama State) each has two hits for Winchester.
