Why, oh why, will it not stop raining? Watching Woodstock’s staff and players scurry for hours to prepare Central High School’s field only to see it pour again… is just disheartening. At any rate, Purcellville will travel to Woodstock again tonight to try to play game one. The other series completed game one:

Charlottesville 5, Waynesboro 4 (Sox lead, 1-0): The Generals took a 4-0 lead after two, but Charlottesville fought back with three in the third and two in the fourth to win this one. Charlottesville pitchers walked 11 batters, but stranded runners inning after inning to hang on for the win. Emmett Bice threw three no-hit, shutout innings to get the win, and Chandler Marsh finished the last four the same way to get the save. Riley Huge was, ahem, huge for the Generals, firing 4 1/3 shutout innings himself. The teams meet tonight for game two in Waynesboro.
