The New Market Rebels swept this week’s awards with Jake Henry Williams (Arkansas State) earning the Player of the Week honor while teammate Spencer Williams (Liberty) was tabbed as the Pitcher of the Week.

Jake Henry Williams has been on fire since joining the team on June 29. In five games since June 30, Williams was 10-for-20 (.500 average) with three doubles and a homer. He had an on-base percentage of ..583 along with a 1.300 slugging percentage.

Spencer Williams pitched six innings, earning a no-decision against Harrisonburg. He allowed one run on just three hits while striking out 10 and walking one. For the season, Williams has 35 strikeouts in 24 innings pitched. He has a 1.87 ERA.

Other North Division Pitcher of the Week Nominations

Front Royal – Colby Seelig (Chestnut Hill) pitched 7.1 innings in a victory over Woodstock. He allowed three runs, one earned, on eight hits. Seelig struck out six and walked one.

Strasburg: John Gray (Wofford) allowed one run on two hits over six innings in two appearances during the week. Gray struck out seven batters and did not issue a walk.

Other North Division Player of the Week Nominations

Strasburg: Landon Beaver (UAB) hit .357 in four games with a 1.017 slugging percentage. Beaver had a double and three homers and drove in eight runs during the week.
