Former Strasburg Express pitcher Rhett Lowder is being called up to the Major Leagues by the Cincinnati Reds and will start Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Lowder, the Reds’ first round selection and the No. 7 overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, has pitched at three levels in the minors this season. His overall numbers are 6-4 with a 3.64 ERA. He has 113 strikeouts in 108.2 innings pitched. Lowder spent most of his time at AA Chattanooga where he was 4-4 in 16 starts.
Lowder, who played at Wake Forest, pitched for Strasburg in 2021. He was 2-0 in four starts for the Express.
