Hitter of the Day

Our HOD is Front Royal’s Dallas Hite, from Penn State Harrisburg, who did a whole bunch of stuff for the Cardinals last night. He went 2-4, with three runs scored, a walk, double, home run, three RBIs, and even two stolen bases. For the season so far, he’s hitting .246/.324/.492 in 61 at-bats, with six doubles, three home runs, and 12 stolen bases. Hite was very, very good this spring, hitting .332 with 14 home runs and 20 stolen bases. He was named ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team, and United East All-Conference First Team.

Pitcher of the Day

Some days this is a close competition, and some days are like today. The POD is easily Woodstock’s Ryan Bradarich, who threw a one-hit shutout over seven innings, allowing three walks and striking out four. He got the win, and his game score was 76- the fourth best start of the summer. The lefty from Nova Southeastern is 2-0, 1.80 through 25 innings, with 10 walks and 16 K’s. He appeared in three games for Southeastern this spring.
