Winchester swept the weekly awards in the North Division with Connor Guy (St. Johns River) earned the Hitter of the Wee award while Owen Powell (Francis Marion) was the Pitcher of the Week.
Guy was 10-for-21 on the week (.476 average) with 10 runs scored, two RBIs, 10 walks and eight stolen bases.
Powell did not allow an earned run in 8.1 innings in two mound appearances. He allowed nine hits, struck out nine and walked just one batter.
Othe North Hitters Nominated
Woodstock: JT Anderosky (DeSales) was 11-for-27 with five runs scored and six RBIs in six games.
Strasburg: Eddie Castillo (New Orleans) hit .500 (6-for-12) with a .683 OBP and .833 SLG. He scored seven runs and drove in two runs. Castillo had four doubles, walked six times and stole three bases.
Other North Pitcher Nominated
Woodstock: Zane Starling (North Florida) made two relief appearances and pitched 3.2 innings. He allowed no runs on three hits. Starling struck out eight and did not walk a bater.
Strasburg: Justin Gay (Florida Atlantic) made three appearances out of the bullpen last week and tossed four innings. He allowed no runs on one hit. Gay struck out four and did not walk a batter. Opposing hitters hit for a .077 average against him for the week.
