Kicking off the USA Signs Pitcher of the Week, Marcelo Saldana takes this season’s first honor.
Hailing from Clovis, California, Saldana took over on the mound this week. Currently sitting at 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA, the left handed pitcher helped close out a dominant win over the Front Royal Cardinals June 5 — winning 7-1. He only allowed one hit in his performance, and struck out six batters in his 88 pitches.
The Rebels will keep its freshman pitcher at hand throughout the season, particularly after his debut performance.
