Winchester 2, Purcellville 0

Winchester’s Owen Powell (Francis Marion) and Reid Bowyer (Stephen F. Austin) combined on a one-hit shutout in a 2-0 win over the Cannons.

Powell pitched seven innings and allowed one hit while striking out eight and walking one. Bowyer struck out three and did not allow a hit over the final two innings.

Todd Abraham (Binghamton) had two hits for the Royals.

Purcellville starter Angel Cruz (Northeastern) pitched five innings and allowed no earned runs on five hits.

Staunton 11, Waynesboro 3

The Braves rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to take an 11-3 win over Waynesboro.

Cooper McDaniel (USC-Beaufort) gave Staunton a 3-2 with a three-run triple in the third. Staunton broke the game open in the sixth with back-to-back homers from Rex Smith (VCU) and Wyatt Campbell (Florida Southern). Smith’s homer was a two-run blast.

Smith finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs and McDaniel was also 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Mikey Urbaniak (Longwood) drove in three runs. Jacob Lester (Trevecca Nazarene) was 2-for-2.

Matt Lefevers (Radford) got the win with three innings of strong relief. Lefevers allowed no runs on two hits. Parker Munday (Akron) got the three-inning save. He gave up one run on three hits and struck out five.

Mac Dye (ODU) was 2-for-4 for the Generals, including a solo homer. Dalton Rocke (Eastern Mennonite) and Cole Turner (Embry Riddle) each had two hits.

Harrisonburg 8, Charlottesville 2

The Turks broke open a close game with five runs in the sixth inning to defeat Charlottesville 8-2. Jose Perez (UNC-G) delivered the big blow in the inning with a three-run double.

Perez finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Jackson Schrafft (North Florida) was 3-for-4.

Cannon Feazell (Clemson) was the winning pitcher. He pitched five innings and allowed one run on three hits.

Patrick Niehus (Gardner-Webb) and Lee Sowers (UNC) each had two hits for the Tom Sox.
