Culpeper 7, Waynesboro 6

Culpeper rallied from a 6-0 first inning deficit to defeat the Waynesboro Generals 7-6.

Waynesboro went back-to-back-to-back homers in the first. Andrew Idlefonso (FIU) belted a three-run homer followed by solo shots from Anthony Clavet (Kennesaw State) and Gialdri Gomez (Seminole State) to put the Generals ahead, 6-0,

Culpeper relievers Mason Snyder (Berry) and Owen Winebarger (Elon) blanked Waynesboro over the final eight innings. Both pitchers went four innings, both allowed one hit and both struck out two batters.

Colby Motley (Wallace CC) drove in the winning run with a sac fly in the bottom of the eighth inning. Alejandro Ludiero (Lipscomb) was 2-for-4 and drove in two runs for the Cavaliers. Caleb Estes (Charlotte) was also 2-for-4.

Braves 9, Charlottesville 1

Staunton won its third straight game, defeating the Tom Sox 9-1.

Miguel Hugas (Mercer) was dominant on the mound, allowing just one unearned run on three hits in six innings. Hugas struck out eight and walked one.

Wyatt Campbell (Florida Southern) was 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs to lead the Braves. Joey Little (East Tennessee State) was 2-for-4.

Patrick Niehus (Gardner-Webb) was 2-for-4 and drove in Charlottesville’s lone run.

Woodstock 6, Front Royal 2

Woodstock won its ninth straight game with a 6-2 win over the Front Royal Cardinals. The loss was the ninth straight for Front Royal.

The River Bandits jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings and cruised to the win.

Sean Keener got the win with a strong start. Keener (Virginia Wesleyan) pitched five innings and allowed one run on three hits. He struck out three and walked three.

Jordan Evans (Mississippi College), William Tippett (South Carolina) and Christian Toledo (Wayland Baptist) each had two hits and each drove in a run for the River Bandits.

Sota Teshima had two hits and drove in a run for the Cardinals.

Strasburg 12, New Market 3

Strasburg downed the Rebels 12-3 in a game shortened to five innings by rain. The loss was the eighth straight for New Market.

Eduardo Castillo (New Orleans), Brett Mosely (Mississippi) and Jack Anderson (JMU) each homered for the Express. Moseley also doubled and finished 3-for-5 with five RBIs. Castillo was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Landon Beaver (UAB) drove in two runs and Cole Griffith (Georgia State) was 3-for-3 for Strasburg.

Hank Eaton (Pearl River) pitched four innings for the Express and allowed one earned run on five hits. He struck out seven and walked one.

Blaine Waltimyer was 2-for-2 and drove in a run for the Rebels.
