Front Royal 9, Purcellville 8
How it happened: Jimmy King’s (Holy Cross) bases-loaded single with one out in the bottom of the ninth walked it off for Front Royal. Purcellville scored three runs in the top of the ninth to tie the game. Bear Garrett Madliak (Jacksonville State) drove in two runs with a double and Madliak scored on a wild pitch to tie the score at 8-8, setting the stage for King’s walk-off hit.
Cardinals Highlights: Broedy Poppell (Florida A&M) was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and King was 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Elijah Grant (South Carolina) was 2ofr-4 with two runs scored and Thomas White (Miami Dade) was 2-for-3 with three runs scored,
Cannons Highlights: Madliak was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Rafael Furcal (San Jacinto) was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Winchester 11, Woodstock 7
How it happened: Winchester raced out to an 8-2 lead to defeat Woodstock.
Royals Highlights: Jaylen Hernandez (Winthrop) was 3-for-5 with a homer, three runs scored and three RBIs. Connor McGinnis (Houston) was 4-for-5 with two RBIs. Austin Lafferty (Akron) was 2-for-4 with three runs scored.
River Bandits Highlights: Ryan Wilson (Middle Georgia) was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Preston Joye (Mercer) and Carlos Sanchez (Florida Southwestern) both finished 2-for-5.
Strasburg 8, New Market 3
How it happened: Strasburg jumped out to an early 5-1 lead and defeated New Market 8-3. Strasburg scored two runs in the fourth on Cade Carr’s (Samford) double, making the score 5-1.
