Staunton picked up its first home win of the season Wednesday night, 11-10, over Front Royal.
Bobby McDonough (W&M) and Derell Fletcher-Knight (VMI) blanked the Cards over the final four innings. McDonough pitched the sixth and seventh innings and allowed just 2 hits while striking out two. Fletcher-Knight dominated the final two innings with five strikeouts.
Joey Parliment (Trevecca Nazarene) was 2-for-4 and provided the big hit for the Braves with a grand slam homer. Joel Gardner (Florida Southwestern) was 2-for-4 with a double and Tank Yahgoubi (Elon) was 2-for-3 with a double. Owen Prince (VMI) was 1-for-2 with three walks and three runs scored.
Blaze OSaben (Georgia Gwinnett) and Daniel Stephens (Longwood) each collected a pair of hits for Front Royal. O’Saben hit a solo homer.
