Winchester 10 Charlottesville 8

Winchester scored six runs in the seventh inning and then snuffed out a Tom Sox rally in the ninth for a 10-8 victory.

Marc Hersh (FIU) had the big blow for the Royals in the seventh with a three-run homer. Jaime Padilla (Shenandoah) and Parker Frey (East Stroudsburg) each had two hits while Frey and Connor Guy (St. John’s River) each drove in two runs.

The Tom Sox scored three runs in the ninth and had the bases loaded with two outs, trailing 10-8. Gavin Sansome (Long Island) entered the game for the Royals and recorded the final out with a strikeout to record the save.

Jason Sirois (Maryland) was 3-for-4 and Elijah Guiliams was 2-for-4 with four RBIs for the Tom Sox.

Saxon Roberts (Auburn) pitched 3.1 innings and allowed one base hit for the Sox. He struck out four.

Covington 16, Woodstock 4

The Lumberjacks pulled away late for a 16-4 win over Woodstock.

Wilfred Gonzalez (Florida Gulf Coast) belted a solo home and added a sac fly for the Jacks. Arquimedes Barrios (Rollins) was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Andres Gonzalez (Lakeland) drove in three runs. Jason Bello (Dayton) was 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

Quindon Wright (Albany State) pitched five innings and allowed one run on two hits. He struck out six in the winning effort.

Jackson Lucas (Troy) was 2-for-2 for the River Bandits.

Harrisonburg 4, New Market 1

Harrisonburg broke up a pitcher’s duel with three runs in the seventh to defeat New Market 4-1.

Cole Dement (State College of Florida) pitched 6.1 innings for the Turks and allowed one run on six hits. He struck out five. Tim Tyler finished up to get the win, allowing no hits in 2,1 innings.

Steele Burd (Clemson) had the big hit in the seventh with a two-single. Gavin Groppuso (Wingate) was 2-for-3 for Harrisonburg.

Spencer Williams (Liberty) pitched six innings for New Market and allowed one run on three hits. He struck out 10 batters.

Johnathan Mallow (Potomac State) had two hits for the Rebels.

Woodstock 14, Waynesboro 7

Woodstock salvaged a split on the day with a 14-7 win over the Generals.

Luke Keister (Shenandoah) and Christian Toledo (Wayland Baptist) each had two hits for the Bandits with Toledo driving in a pair of runs. JR Anderosky (DeSales) drove in three runs and Hunter Miller (Southern Indiana) both finished with two RBIs.

Nathan Fink (Sam Houston State) homered twice and drove in five runs for Waynesboro. Andrew Ildefonso (FIU) was 2-for-5 with a solo homer.

Front Royal 4, Covington 3

The Cardinals scored the winning run in the bottom of the 10th to defeat the Lumberjacks 4-3.

Joshua Quezeda (San Diego State) was 2-for-5 with two runs batted in, including the game-winner in extra innings. Jay Campbell (Florida A&M) was also 2-for-5.

Trevor Nikolis (North Florida) allowed just one hit in three innings to get the win for the Cards. He struck out three.

Bradon Durfee (Pasco Hernando), Wilfred Gonzalez (Florida Gulf Coast), Edwin Melendez (Lake Sumter) and Arquimedes Barrios (Rollins) each had two base hits for the Jacks.

Yannis Rembert (Cumberlands) pitched four shutout innings for Covington, allowed just five hits while striking out eight.

Strasburg 13, Staunton 0

Three Strasburg pitches combined on a two-hit shutout in a 13-0 victory over the Braves.

Dawson Coe (Georgia Southern) and John Gray (Wofford) each pitched three innings and combined to hold the Braves without a base hit. Staunton’s Wyatt Campbell (Florida Southern) singled off Strasburg’s Jacob Chadwell (Longwood) to lead off the seventh, breaking up the no-hit bid. Chadwell gave up one more hit, but struck out two batters to preserve the shutout.

Brett Moseley (Mississippi) got the Express rolling with a two-run homer and Justin Anctil (Panola) added a two-run double for a 4-0 lead after one inning. Landon Beaver belted a grand slam in the second to make it 8-0. Beaver finished with five RBIs. Brady Boles (Panola) also drove in two runs for the Express.

Culpeper 10, Purcellville 4

Culpeper took the lead with four runs in the third inning and defeated the Cannons 10-4.

Keeton Burroughs (Pittsburgh), Ethan Belk (Wofford), Alejandro Ludeiro (Lipscomb), Keoni Painter (BYU) and Donovan Mitchell (South Alabama) each had two hits for the Cavaliers. Painter had a home run and four RBIs. Ludeiro drove in a pair of runs.

Rohan Putz (Kansas State) had two hits for the Cannons and Anthony Fernandez (St. Bonaventure) drove in two runs.
