Weather washed out but two games in the VBL on Sunday.

Harrisonburg 9, Strasburg 8

Harrisonburg scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat Strasburg 9-8.

After Strasburg scored five in the top of the ninth to take the lead, the Turks answered. A single by Josiah Seguin (Chipola) scored pinch-runner Roman Trinidad (San Jacinto). When the ball was misplayed in the outfield, Jalen Evans (Wingate) raced home with the winning run,

Seguin was 3-for-6 with three RBIs to lead the Turks. Evans and Phillip Garcia (Gulf Coast CC) each added two base hits. Charlie Hendrix (Georgetown) pitched six innings for the Turks and allowed two runs on three hits.

Aiden Stewart (Delaware) was 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Strasburg. Landon Beaver (UAB) added two base hits and Josh Ibe (Stephen F. Austin) drove in two runs. Express starter Harbersting Abreu (Tallahassee CC) pitched three scoreless innings, allowing three hits while striking out five.

Waynesboro 16, Woodstock 6

The Generals broke the game open with a nine-run fourth inning and defeated Woodstock 16-6.

James Green II (Presbyterian) was 3-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Generals. Anthony Clavet (Kennesaw State), Jaxon Pate (Jacksonville State), Kyzer Harrington (Texas-Arlington) and Jose Fichera each had two base hits for Waynesboro. Gialdri Gomez (Seminole State) and Harrington both finished with three RBIs.

Cole Turner (Embry-Riddle) did not allow a hit in 2.2 innings to pick up the win.

Jake Courville (Wingate) and JT Anderosky (DeSales) each had two hits for the River Bandits. Luke Keister (Shenandoah) drove in three runs and Christian Toledo (Wayland Baptist) added two RBIs for Woodstock.
