Three former Valley Leaguers have been named the the 26-man National Team Roster that will play in the amazingly-named Honkbalweek Haarlem event held July 8-15 in Haarlem, Netherlands.
- Rhett Lowder, Wake Forest: The 2022 ACC Pitcher of the Year pitched for Strasburg in 2021, when he went 2-0, 2.36, with nine hits, two walks, and 27 strikeouts in 19 innings. He was named ATVL’s top starting pitcher after the season. For the Demon Deacons this spring, he went 11-3, 3.08 in 99 1/3 innings, with 105 strikeouts and only 26 walks.
- Jack Hurley, Virginia Tech: Hurley played for Charlottesville in 2021, going 10-42 in 18 games. All he did for the Hokies this spring is hit .375/.452/.664 in 232 at-bats, with 23 doubles, 14 home runs, 55 RBIs, a 32/51 BB/K, and 10 stolen bases. He was named All-ACC First Team.
- Wyatt Langford, Florida: Langford also played for Charlottesville in 2021, hitting .345/.459/.527 in 110 at-bats, with seven doubles, two triples, three home runs, a 20/26 BB/K, and six stolen bases. He was honored as a top hitter by ATVL. Langford, named second team All-SEC this spring, hit .355/.447/.719 for the Gators, with nine doubles, three triples, 26 home runs, 63 RBIs, and a 36/44 BB/K ratio.

As a bonus, but not quite fitting the criteria, both Zach Agnos and Brayden Taylor were set to come to the Valley, but ended up with different opportunities.
