Woodstock 15, Winchester 1
The River Bandits jumped out to an early 6-1 lead and coasted to a 15-1 victory over Winchester.
Three Woodstock hitters – leadoff batter Jordan Evans (Mississippi College), JT Anderosly (DeSales) and Austin Ford (Folson Lake College) – were a combined 12-for-12 with seven runs scored and seven RBIs. Evans, Anderosky and Ford each finished 4-for-4. Christain Toledo was 2-for-5 while Luke Keister (Shenandoah) and Hays Carley (William Carey) each drove in two runs.
Brixton Lofgren (Miami) pitched five innings, allowing one run on five hits to get the win.
New Market 13, Covington 4
The Rebels pounded out 14 hits and defeated Covington 13-4.
Leadoff batter Jake Henry Williams (Arkansas State) was 4-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs to lead New Market. Logan Kelly (Colorado State-Pueblo) was 3-for-5 and scored three runs. Blaine Waltimyer (Penn State-Harrisburg) and Math Murphy (Salem CC) each had two base hits. Murphy and Mike Dobkowski (Enterprise State) each drove in two runs.
Dariel Castillo (Pasco Hernando) was 3-for-4 with two runs batted in for the Lumberjacks. Wilfred Gonzalez (Florida Gulf Coast) was 2-for-4.
Waynesboro 6, Purcellville 3
Waynesboro scored four runs in the top of the first and led the entire game in defeating the Cannons 6-3.
Anthony Clavet (Kennesaw State) was 2-for-4 and had the big hit in the first with a two-run double. Seth Buchanan (VMI) was 2-for-5 for the Generals.
Julian Mlodzinski (FIU) pitched five innings and allowed one run on four hits. He struck out four and did not walk a batter.
Rohan Putz (Kansas State) was 3-for-4 and Thomas Marsala (Western Kentucky was 2-for-4 for the Cannons.
Staunton 8, Charlottesville 4
The Braves scored three runs in the seventh to take a five-run lead and held on for an 8-4 win over the Tom Sox.
Mikey Urbaniak (Longwood) had a big pinch-hit, RBI-double in the seventh. Wyatt Campbell (Florida Southern), Ryan Fluharty (USC_Aiken) and Jacob Lester (Trevecca Nazarene) also drove in runs for the Braves.
Sam Greer (St. Joseph’s) pitched five scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, before running into trouble in the sixth when he allowed two runs. Brady Clark worked three scoreless innings before allowing two runs in the bottom of the ninth. Ismael Borrero (Mercer) recorded the final out with a strikeout with the bases loaded.
Elijah Guiliams drove in two runs for the Tom Sox.
Ian White (East Carolina) did not allow a hit in his 2.2 innings of the mound for Charlottesville.
Harrisonburg 5, Culpeper 4
Harrisonburg scored the winning run in the top of the ninth to defeat the Cavalier 5-4.
Clay Thompson (JMU) led off t the ninth with a home run for the Turks. Josiah Seguin (Chipola) was 2-for-5.
Wesley Jones (Charlotte) allowed no runs and three hits in 3.2 innings for Harrisonburg. He struck out six and walked three. Cole Dement (State College of Florida) did not allow a run in the final two innings and earned the win.
Kelly Crittenberger (Northwestern) and Donovan Mitchell (South Alabama) each had two hits for the Cavaliers. Zach Mizrahi (Penn State) pitched 4-2 innings and gave up two runs on one hit. He struck out eight and walked five.
Strasburg 11, Front Royal 8
Strasburg snapped a 7-7 tie with a run in the seventh and went on to defeat the Royals 11-8
Topher Jones (Pearl River) was 3-for-5 with a run batted in a and Brady Boles (Panola) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Brett Moseley (Mississippi) was 2-for-5 while Josh Ibe (Stephen F. Austin) homered, drove in two runs and scored three times. Brooks Henderson (UMBC) and Cristian de los Santos (Seminole State) each drove in a pair of runs.
Gabriel Melara was 3-for-5 and teammate Tristan Bittle (Northwest Florida State) drove in two runs.
