Strasburg 14, Charlottesville 4

Strasburg rallied from a 4-1 deficit by scoring 13 runs over the final four innings to defeat the Tom Sox 14-4.

The Express scored six runs in the seventh inning to take the lead. Topher Jones (Pearl River) belted a two-run homer and Carter Schmitt (Randolph-Macon) added a two-run single to spark the rally.

Jones was 5-for-6 with two homers and five RBIs. Aiden Stewart (Delaware) was 2-for-6 with two RBIs and Logan Duff (Randolph-Macon) added a solo homer for the Express.

Davis Budd (Western Carolina) pitched the final 1.1 innings to get the victory. Budd allowed no runs on two hits. He struck out seven and did not walk a batter.

Andrew Mannelly (Wofford) and Gian DeCastro (Arizona State) each had two hits for the Tom Sox. James Nunnallee (Mississippi State) drove in three runs.

Winchester 6, Purcellville 5

Winchester edged Purcellville 6-5 in 10 innings.

Leadoff hitter Jaime Padilla (Shenandoah) went 3-for-5 and scored three runs to lead Winchester. Connor Guy (St. Johns River) and Nik Rubendall (Shepherd) each added two hits.

Ethan Acevedo (Indian Hills CC) was 3-for-4 for the Royals. Gerardo Prado (Oklahoma) and Taiga Sakuma (Mid-Atlantic Christian) both finished 2-for-4.

Waynesboro 7, Staunton 6

Waynesboro scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to defeat Staunton, 7-6.

Andrew lldefonso (FIU) drove in the winning run with a two-out, bases-loaded single. Ildefonso finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Cole Turner (Embry-Riddle) pitched the final three innings to get the win. He allowed one run and five base hits.

Wyatt Peifer (JMU) and Jackson Ingram (WVU) each had two hits for the Braves. Cooper McDaniel (USC-Beaufort) drove in two runs.

Woodstock 5, Harrisonburg 1

Woodstock jumped out to an early lead and defeated the Turks 5-1.

Sean Keener (Virginia Wesleyan) pitched six scoreless innings and allowed just two hits. He struck out eight and did not walk a batter.

Nazir Mendez (Eastern Kentucky) was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the River Bandits. Luke Keister (Shenandoah) was 3-for-5 and JT Anderosky (DeSales) was 2-for-5.

Thomas Bly (St. Johns River) doubled and drove in the lone run for the Turks.

Covington 4, Culpeper 1

Covington took the lead with two runs in the sixth to defeat Culpeper 4-1.

Adin Zorn’s (Dayton) two-run homer accounted for the go-ahead runs in the sixth for the Lumberjacks.

Chris Fox, Jendy Gonzalez (Miami Dade), Zorn and Blake Opie (Hillsborough CC) each had two hits for Covington.

Clayton Stewart (Francis Marion) pitched the final 3.1 innings and did not allow a hit to earn the win on the mound. He struck out five and walked one.

Keeton Burroughs (Pittsburgh) had two hits for Culpeper.

Front Royal 11, New Market 1

Front Royal snapped a 1-1 tie with five runs in the sixth inning and defeated New Market 11-1.

Sota Teshima (Santa Ana College) ignited the sixth inning rally with a two-run single, and Darryl Lee (Bethune-Cookman) added the exclamation point with a two-run homer, putting the Cardinals on top 6-1. Front Royal ended the contest with five more runs in the seventh inning.

Lee and Isaiah Frost (Missouri) each had three hits for Front Royal and Teshima added two hits. Frost had three RBIs for the Cardinals.

Three Front Royal pitchers combined to hold the Rebels to one run on three hits. Winning pitcher Jay Campbell (Florida A&M) pitched two scoreless innings and did not allow a hit. He struck out four and did not walk a batter.

Logan Kelly (Colorado State-Pueblo) led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo homer that turned out to be New Market’s only run of the game.
