Charlottesville 4, Harrisonburg 3

Charlottesville scored three times in the bottom of the first and held on for a 4-3 win over Harrisonburg.

Preston Gamster (TCU) got the Tom Sox started with a solo homer in the first inning. Gamster finished the night 2-for-4 with two RBIs. James Nunnallee (Virginia) also had two hits for the Tom Sox.

Evan Alwine (FIU) was the winning pitcher. He went six innings and allowed one run on six hits. He struck out nine and did not walk a batter.

Phillip Garcia (Gulf Coast CC) was 3-for-4 for the Turks. Jalen Evans (Wingate) and Thomas Bly (St. Johns River) both finished 2-for-4. Bly homered for the Turks.

Tim Tyler (JMU) pitched 2.2 innings in relief for the Turks. He allowed one hit, struck out six and walked one.

New Market 7, Front Royal 5

New Market rallied with five runs in the top of the ninth inning to defeat Front Royal 7-5.

Logan Kelly (Colorado State-Pueblo) delivered the big blow in the ninth with a three-run homer, giving the Rebels the lead.

Michael Dobkowski (Enterprise State), Christopher Harbert (Potomac State) and Matthew Murphy (Salem CC) each finished with two base hits for New Market.

Luke McGrath (JMU) did not allow a hit in his 2.1 innings on the mound to earn the win. He struck out five and walked four.

Jon Embury (Florida Gulf Coast) was 3-for-5, including his league-leading sixth home run, to lead Front Royal. Mason McDougall (Florida State) drove in two runs for the Cardinals.

Kai Hanasaki (Mississippi Valley State) pitching five scoreless innings for the Cardinals. He allowed just three hits, struck out six and walked one.

Woodstock 6, Winchester 4

Woodstock worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth to defeat Winchester 6-4.

Sohrab Rezaei (South Suburban College) was 2-for-3 with a homer to spark Woodstock. JT Andersosky (DeSales) had two hits and Jake Courville (Wingate) had two RBIs for the River Bandits.

Zane Starling (North Florida) allowed two hits and hit a batter to load the bases in the bottom of the ninth, but then struck out the final two Winchester hitters to earn the save.

Jaime Padilla (Shenandoah) was 2-for-5 and drove in two runs to lead the Royals.
