Braves 17, New Market
Staunton pounded out 13 hits, including three homers, to roll past New Market, 17-5.
LT Cockrill (Delaware), Jackson Ingram (West Virginia) and Mikey Urbaniak (Longwood) each homered for Staunton. Cockrill finished 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs. Ingram was 2-for-3 with four RBIs and Urbaniak was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Zach Paczewski (Radford) was 2-for-3 and scored four runs.
Sam Greer (St. Joseph’s) was the winning pitcher. He pitched four innings, allowed one run on four hits and struck out eight batters.
Matt Murphy (Salem CC) was 3-for-3 and Caleb Newcomer (Shippensburg) was 2-for-3 for the Rebels.
Winchester 5, Strasburg 0
The Royals scored two runs in the first and went on to blank the Express 5-0.
Cooper Campbell (VCU), Jerrod Jenkins (Dallas Baptist) and Divine Valle (Shorter) combined on the shutout. Campbell pitched five innings and allowed six hits while striking out five. Jenkins worked three innings and allowed two hits while fanning four. Valle pitched the ninth, walking one and striking out one.
Ian Kaiser (Binghamton) was 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs to lead the Royals. Nick Avagnano (Richard Stockton) added two hits and one run batted in.
Jay Douglas (Eastern Kentucky), Jack Anderson (JMU) and Cavan McMeans (Belmont) each had two hits for the Express.
Waynesboro 6, Covington 5
Waynesboro scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to defeat the Lumberjacks 6-5.
Covington took the lead with two runs in the top of the ninth before the Generals walked it off in the home half of the ninth.
Seth Buchanan (VMI) and Daniel Smith (Gordon College) were both 2-for-4 with a run batted in for Waynesboro.
Tracen Cameron (FIU) got the final three outs in the ninth, entering after the Jacks had taken the lead. He struck out one batter.
The Lumberjacks managed just three hits in the game. Blake Opie (Hillsborough) was 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
