Staunton 11, Culpeper 6

The Staunton Braves improved to 5-1 on the season with an 11-6 road win over Culpeper on Thursday.

Lincoln Pack (Pensacola State) was 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Zach Paczewski (Radford) was also 2-for-5. Mikey Urbaniak (Longwood) drove in three runs.

Brady Clark (St. John’s) was the winning pitcher in his first outing of the summer. Clark allowed one run on two hits in two innings. He struck out two and did not walk a batter.

Colby Motley (VCU) was 3-for-5 with a solo homer for Culpeper. Keeton Burroughs {Pittsburgh) and Ethan Belk (Wofford) each added two hits for the Cavaliers.

Purcellville 7, New Market 6

Purcellville scored the winning run in the bottom of the 11th to defeat New Market 7-6.

Gerardo Prado homered for the Cannons. Purcellville finished with six hits, one each from six different players.

For New Market, Jack Johnson (Oklahoma City) was 2-for-5 with two RBIs.

Winchester 10, Waynesboro 4

Winchester scored three runs in the fourth to lead 4-0 and the Royals pulled away in the latter innings to defeat the Generals 10-4.

John Emendorfer (Charleston Southern) was 3-for-5 with four runs scored and two RBIs to lead the Royals. Joey Agar (Mt. Saint Mary’s) was 2-for-4. Jaime Padilla (Shenandoah) and Jaden Malave (Calhounn CC) each drove in three runs.

Daniel Smith (Gordon College) and Andrew Ildefonso (FIU) each finished with three hits for Waynesboro.

Strasburg 9, Front Royal 7

Strasburg scored four runs in the top of the ninth to break a 5-5 tie and defeat Front Royal 9-7.

The Express had 14 hits – two each by Brett Mosely (Mississippi), Carter Schmitt (Randolph-Macon), Jake McCarter (High Point), Eduardo Castillo (New Orleans) and Logan Duff (Randolph-Macon)

Strasburg starter (Gavin Kindell (Florida Southwestern) pitched three shutout innings and allowed just one hit while striking out four.

Jay Campbell (Florida A&M), Boston Torres (VMI), Dylan Winebrenner (Salisbury) and Jackson Hill (Texas-Arlington) each had two hits for Front Royal.

Cardinals starter Ryan Whitaker (St. Johns River) pitched four innings and allowed one run on four hits while striking out three.
