Harrisonburg 21, Front Royal 2
Harrisonburg scored 14 runs in the sixth inning and defeated Front Royal 21-2.
Jose Perez (UNC-Greensboro) was 3-for-3 with four RBIs for the Turks. Jordan Jaffe (Liberty) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Phillip Garcia (Gulf Coast CC) and Ben Garber each drove in three runs. Josiah Seguin (Chipola) homered for the Turks and Jackson Schrafft (North Florida) added two base hits.
Brandon Butler (Slippery Rock) had two hits for the Cardinals.
Purcellville 7, Staunton 1
Thomas Marsala (Western Kentucky) snapped a 1-1 tie with a three-run homer to spark the Cannons to a 7-1 win over the Braves.
Marsala finished with a 2-for-4 night. Anthony Fernandez (St. Bonaventure) was also 2-for-4 for the Cannons.
Cannons starter Corey Costello (Radford) pitched five shutout innings. He allowed two hits and struck out four.
Staunton starter Miguel Hugas (Mercer) pitched three scoreless innings and did not allow a hit.
Wyatt Campbell (Florida Southern) and LT Cockrill (Delaware) each had two hits for the Braves.
New Market 6, Woodstock 1
New Market rode a strong start from Spencer Williams (Liberty) to a 6-1 win over the River Bandits.
Williams pitched five shutout innings and allowed three hits. He struck out nine and walked two.
Daniel Shuta (Kaskaskia CC) and Dan Leikus (Rhode Island) were both 3-for-4 with two RBIs for the Rebels. John Dobkowski (Enterprise State) was 2-for-5.
JT Anderosky (DeSales) had two hits for Woodstock.
Strasburg 4, Covington 3
A solo homer by Eddie Castillo (New Orleans) in the bottom of the eighth was the winning blow in Strasburg’s 4-3 win over Covington.
Castillo finished the night 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
Jose Roig (Pasco-Hernando) closed the game with a scoreless ninth. Roig struck out two.
Bryce Mitchell (Bucknell) and Davis Rivers (Wofford) silenced the Jacks during the middle innings. Mitchell pitched 2.2 scoreless innings and allowed 2 hits while striking out five. River added two shutout innings. He did not allow a hit and fanned two.
Braden Durfee (Pasco-Hernando) and Victor Sanchez (Oklahoma Wesleyan) each had two hits for Covington.
Despite taking the loss, Clayton Stewart (Francis Marion) pitched well for Covington. Stewart allowed one run and four hits in four innings. He struck out seven batters.
