Woodstock 2, Staunton 1

Five Woodstock pitchers combined to hold Staunton to three hits and one unearned run in a 2-1 victory.

Ryan Cowell (Virginia Wesleyan) was the winning pitcher, going 3.1 innings and allowing just one hit while striking out three. Zane Starling (North Florida) worked the ninth and struck out the side to earn the save.

Hunter Miller (Southern Indiana) homered for the River Bandits.

Harrisonburg 8, Waynesboro 0

Cole Dement (State College of Florida) and Robert Loper combined on a six-hit shutout in the Turks 8-0 victory. The duo combined to strike out 10 batters with zero walks.

Jalen Evans (Wingate) was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs for the Turks. Thomas Bly (St. Johns River) was 2-for-5 with a homer and Jackson Schrafft (St. Johns River) was 1-for-2 with a solo homer.

James Green II (Presbyterian) had two hits for Waynesboro.

Strasburg 13, Covington 1

Strasburg scored four runs in the first and coasted to a 13-1 win over Covington.

Jack Anderson (JMU) was 2-for-2 with a homer and three RBIs for the Express. Landon Beaver (UAB) went 3-for-5 with a homer and four RBIs. Topher Jones (Pearl River) was also 3-for-5. Cristian De Los Santos (Seminole State) and Erwin Cabassa (Seminole State) each had two base hits.

Hank Eaton (Pearl River) picked up the win, pitching 3.0 innings and allowing no runs on three hits.

Jendy Gonzalez (Miami Dade) and Edwin Melendez (Lake Sumter CC) each had two hits for the Lumberjacks.

Charlottesville 10, Culpeper 7

Charlottesville used an eight-run sixth inning to overtake Culpeper 10-7.

Andrew Mannelly (Wofford) was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. For the Tom Sox. Kyle Langley (JMU) was 2-for-4. Patrick Niehus (Gardner-Webb) hit a grand slam to highlight the sixth-inning uprising.

Donovan Mitchell (South Alabama) had two hits for Culpeper.

New Market 12, Purcellville 9

New Market scored five runs in the seventh inning to rally past Purcellville 12-9.

Caleb Newcomer (Shippensburg) was 3-for-5 and scored two runs for the Rebels. Jack Hobson (West Alabama) and Logan Kelly (Colorado State-Pueblo) each finished with two hits. John Dobkowski (Enterprise State) drove in three runs and New Market teammates Ike Schmidly (JMU) and Blaine Waltimyer (Penn State-Harrisburg) each added two RBIs.

Winning pitcher Christopher Harbert (Potomac State) allowed one hit in three shutout innings. He struck out five batters.

For the Cannons, Gerardo Prado (Oklahoma) was 2-for-5 and teammate Kobe White (LSU-Shreveport drove in two runs.

Winchester 19, Front Royal 5

Winchester scored 10 runs in the first three innings to lead 10-1 and coasted to an 18-5 win over Front Royal.

Joey Agar (Mt. Saint Mary’s), Nick Avagnano (Richard Stockton) and Easton Albert (East Stroudsburg) each finished with three base hits for the Royals. Todd Abraham (Binghamton), Jaime Padilla (Shenandoah) and Nik Rubendall (Shepherd) each had two hits. Abraham, Agar and Avagnano each drove in three runs.

Isaiah Frost (Missouri), Cayden Hessemyer (Florida Gulf Coast) and JP Williams (JMU) each had two hits for Front Royal. Hessemyer drove in three runs.
