Harrisonburg swept the weekly honors in the VBL South Division with Christopher Katz (Wake Forest) claiming the Hitter of the Week Award while his Turks teammate Hudson Rowan (Florida State) earned the Pitcher of the Week honor. The week included games from July 8-14.

Katz .450 (9-for-20) on the week with four doubles, five RBIs, five runs scored and six walks. He hit safely in all five games.

Rowan turned in a dominant effort in a start against Covington. Rowan pitched five shutout innings and allowed just one hit in the win. He struck out 10 and did not walk a batter.

Other hitters nominated:

Staunton: AJ Wenrich (Georgia Southern) was 7-for-23, hitting safely in all six games with two doubles, a triple, two homers and seven RBIs.

Culpeper: Bryce Demory (Lynchburg) 6-for-14 with six RBIs and a homer. He had a 2-run hit   in the bottom of 9th to a tie a game that was won later in the inning.

Waynesboro: Kyle Neri (Rider) was 9-for-19 with a triple, six runs scored and two RBIs.

Covington: Carlos Castillo (Dayton) was 6-for-14 with two homers, four runs scored and eight RBIs.

Other Pitcher Nominated:

Staunton: Andrew Shaffner (N.C. State) was 1-0 in two appearances: He pitched nine innings and allowed two runs on nine hits. He struck out 12 and walked four.

Culpeper: Brok Eddy (Arizona State) was the winning pitcher in a 5-3 win over Covington. He pitched 5.1 innings in relief and allowed one earned run on five hits. He struck out nine and walked two.

Waynesboro: Bryce Metts (Southern Wesleyan) picked up a win vs. Covington, pitching five innings and allowing one earned run on seven hits. He struck out three and walked two.

Covington: Jorge Garcia (Atlantis) pitched five innings and recorded a save during the week. He allowed no run on four hits while striking out eight and walking one.

Brok Eddy 5.1 innings with 9 K’s and 1 earned run in a pitchers dual won in 10th inning by Cavaliers.
