The Harrisonburg Turks have announced a change in leadership for the 2023 season as Gerald Harman will assume the role of team president of the organization.

Harman takes over the organization from long-time owners Bob and Teresa Wease who have operated the franchise for more than three decades. Bob Wease has been president and general manager of the Turks for 32 seasons.

Harman is no stranger to the VBL as he has been involved with several organizations during the past two decades. He played a key role in the success of the Luray Wranglers, working with owner Bill Turner and VBL Hall of Fame coach Mike Bocock in bringing a championship team to Luray.

Harman also played a role in the recruiting process for the Staunton Braves, Woodstock River Bandits and most recently the Waynesboro Generals.

Wease, who has also coached the Turks during his stint at the team’s president, will stay on board and coach the team during the 2023 summer season. The 2023 season will be the 21st summer for Wease as the Turks head coach.
