Two former Valley Leaguers have received postseason honors from the Atlantic Coast Conference!

First of all, Rhett Lowder (Wake Forest) was named Pitcher of the Year, capping a season in which he went 10-3, 2.46 in 88 innings pitched, while allowing 77 hits, only 19 walks, and striking out 94. He was dominant for Strasburg in the VBL in 2021, too, going 2-0, 2.36 in 19 innings, with a 0.579 WHIP, .134 batting average against, 0.9 BB/9, and 12.8 K/9. He was ATVL’s top starter in the entire league.

Secondly, Jack Hurley (Virginia Tech) was named to the first team in the outfield. Hurley hit .383/.468/.709 in 196 at-bats, with 53 runs scored, 23 doubles, one triple, 13 home runs, 48 RBIs, nine stolen bases, and a solid 30/45 BB/K ratio. He went 10-42 in 18 games for Charlottesville in 2021, with eight runs, three doubles, and nine walks.

Congratulations to both!
