Each week during the regular season, the Valley League will choose an outstanding hitter and pitcher to honor with the “Signs USA” award, chosen by the league’s SMRD.
This week, the 2022 inaugural Hitter of the Week award goes to New Market’s Garett Wallace, from East Tennessee State! In the first week of the season, Wallace hit a cool .370/.438/.963, with seven runs scored, four doubles, four home runs, and a whopping 14 RBIs in only 27 at-bats. He’s fifth in the league in batting average, and leads in home runs, RBIs, and slugging percentage.
