-Staunton 6, Covington 2- This win puts Staunton up 5.5 games over Covington for the last playoff spot in the South
-Front Royal 11, Purcellville 4- This one ended a half inning early when a bank of lights went out at Fireman’s Field
-Charlottesville 7, Harrisonburg 6- Elijah Nunez singled home Pierce Bennett with one out in the bottom of the ninth to win this one- the 7th straight win for Charlottesville
-Winchester 14, Woodstock 6- Can anyone stop the Royal offense?

Hitter of the Day

Our hitter of the day is once again Winchester’s Austin Bulman! Bulman, a first baseman from Rice, went 4-5, with two runs scored, a walk, double, and three RBIs. He’s now rocking a .398/.435/.643 slashline after 98 at-bats, with nine doubles, five home runs, and 31 RBIs. And this is his third HOD award!

The pitcher with the most impressive line last night is Front Royal’s Chad Cwik, from Mercyhurst, who shut down Purcellville over four shutout innings, allowing only two hits, two walks, and striking out six to earn the win. Cwik is now 1-2, 9.94 on the summer, with 17 K’s in 12 2/3 innings pitched.
