Week Two here in the Valley has officially wrapped up and a couple of guys had standout performances during Week #2.

The Hitter of the Week is no other than Gregory Melo of the Covington Lumberjacks and Tallahassee Community College. Melo was raking this week, as seen by his ridiculous batting average of .647. He went 11-17 with 1 HR 1 2B and 4RBIs during the Week.

This Week there were so many great performances on the mound that the Commissioner decided to award two Pitchers the Co-Pitcher of the Week Award. The First standout hails from the University of Purdue Ft. Wayne and the Purcellville Cannons, Mac Ayres. The RHP had a great game vs the Front Royal Cardinals on 6/14. Ayres got the start in the ball game and went 5.2 IP with 9 strikeouts and allowing only 1 BB.

The Co-Pitcher of the Week is also being given to New Market Rebel and Washington and Jefferson College RHP, Anthony Pass. Pass made two appearances out of the bullpen, throwing 6.2 Innings. In those innings, Pass struck out 7 without issuing a walk. He surrendered 6 Hits, and 1 earned run during the week. Bringing his Week 2 ERA to 1.35.
