Former Charlottesville Tom Sox infielder Ryan Wynn of Wofford and former Front Royal Cardinals IF Jimmy King of Holy Cross were both recently named to the 2025 Brooks Wallace Award watchlist released by The College Baseball Foundation.

The award honors the nation’s top shortstop and will be presented by the College Baseball Foundation later this year. It is named for former Texas Tech shortstop Brooks Wallace, who played for the Red Raiders from 1977 to 1980. Wallace died of leukemia at the age of 27.

On the season, Wynn sports a .331 batting average with a team-high 53 hits as the only Terrier to start all 39 games. Of those hits, 13 are doubles, which are third in the conference. He boasts four home runs and has driven home 31 runs while scoring 38. On the bases, Wynn has swiped 12 bags in 15 attempts, and he adds a .417 on-base percentage with 17 total walks while slugging .513.

King has started and played in all games for the Crusaders this year. King is hitting .333 with a .363 on-base and a .469 slugging percentage to go with 49 hits, 28 runs scored, 27 RBI, 16 walks, 15 stolen bases, 13 doubles and a home run. He is tied for the Patriot League lead in hits and doubles while ranking fifth in batting average, tied for fifth in stolen bases, tied for ninth in RBI, 10th in slugging percentage and 10th in OPS (.873). Defensively, King has 51 putouts, and 86 assists while recording a .965 fielding percentage, the second highest mark in his career. The 86 assists rank third in the conference.
